The premises of J.M. Gonçalves Cooperage along the protected area of the Douro International Natural Park, which ensures environmental purity needed for superior quality of wood used in the manufacture of our products.
Our woods are dried outdoors in an ecological area of special beauty, free from contamination and without too much moisture. Our timber has a minimum Natural drying outdoors between 24 and 36 months and are subject to large temperature variations.
These are only factors which give to our woods unmatched quality, globally recognized by the most demanding markets and Chancela certified by Bureau Veritas, present in our barrels.
